Daily Baseball Tip Sheet, July 17, 2026
Picks previously reserved for an elite group of Las Vegas players. Now yours.

We killed it on the last day of baseball before the All Star Break. 2/3 on POTD, hit the Daily Double, the 3-Way, and the Longshot, and just BARELY missed the Moonshot. On the day if you followed my unit allocation, we ended play with 41 units out, and 66.7 units back for an upside of 25.7 units for the day. That’s a great number!
That’s the good news. The downside is that today in baseball is one of the most unpredictable days in sports. Teams have had almost five days off, and it’s anybody’s guess who got well rested versus who got well rusted. I was tempted to play a lot of unders today, but that makes for negative watching. I despise watching my entire slate rooting against production. It’s just not a good way to enjoy the game. Instead, we’re going to lock in on pitchers who have been predictable, hitters with the right matchups to continue their streaks, and teams with money lines that offer some predictability and profit. Having said that, anything, and I mean ANYTHING can happen today, so I’m not putting the farm on anything. I’m holding steady with 10 units on each of the POTDs, 5 units on the Daily Double, 3 on the 3-Way, 2 on the Longshot, and even though the Moonshot is just a 2 player extension of the Longshot, it’s still a big ask from two Rays players in the early game. I’m sticking with two units on the Longshot and only one unit on the Moonshot.
Good luck today everybody! I’ll be back tomorrow with a recap and a look at the Saturday action. Remember, for a limited time we’re giving you all 3 POTDs with your free subscription. You can get the Daily Double, Vegas 3-Way, Longshot, and the Moonshot with your paid season subscription. As a special offer for you, if you lock in the 2027 baseball regular season today before the price increase you’ll get the rest of 2026 absolutely FREE! Remember, I only do baseball. Eat, live, sleep and breathe, and you can’t beat the deal we’ve got right now. Don’t give up hundreds per month when you can get the best intel right here for less than $80 a year!

#1 — Colin Rea (CHC) Over 3.5 Strikeouts -130
This is almost a no-brainer with a surprisingly good line value. Twins lineup against has enough holes that I wouldn’t be surprised to see 5, or maybe even 6 strikeouts from Rea, but first day back and all, we’ll take the conservative route and cash at Four.
#2 — ATL ML PLUS
Chris Sale (ATL) - Over 6.5 Strikeouts
Parlay pays +101
Braves at home and Sale on the mound is one of the easier picks today. He’s suffered a couple of unfortunate losses due to run support, but look for Harris, Dubon and Baldwin to click today and put runs on the board against the Rangers who entered the All Star break playing well, but look to be outmatched on the mound and at the plate today.
#3 — TOR ML and MIA ML +298
Marlins are the road team, and the underdog, but both teams are riding a 3 game losing streak going into the break and looking for redemption. The top part of their lineup is still absolutely murdering the ball, and I look for them to jump out early against Henderson and never look back, plus Sandy Alcantara is the secret ingredient to keep the Brewers off the base path in the first five innings.
Blue Jays are the obvious favorite at home against a White Sox team with a lot of talent, but little direction. Look for Chase Meidroth and Sam Antonacci to make some noise, but not enough to overcome this matchup.
