Daily Baseball Tip Sheet, July 18, 2026

Picks previously reserved for an elite group of Las Vegas players. Now yours.

Yesterday wasn’t the best, but it could have been so much worse. In yesterday’s newsletter we discussed the historical uncertainty of the first days back after the All Star Break, and that will probably plague us all week until the season settles back into a rhythm and becomes easier to predict. The Rays imploded, The White Sox absolutely shocked the Blue Jays and wrecked a lot of slips for a lot of players. As the dust settles, we went one for three on the POTDs, hit the Vegas 3-Way and the Longshot, but missed the Daily Double and the Moonshot. If you followed me on units, we sent 41 units out on slips and ended the day with 55.6 units. That leaves us 14.6 units up on the day and 40.3 units up for the second half of the season. Anything better than a push over the next few days is a big victory, so we did better than expected today, and have nearly doubled our money over the last two days.

Today we’re going to get a little more aggressive with all three POTDs. We’ll focus on some pitching and money lines and look to set all three POTDs at +130 or better. We’ll do strong hitters across the Daily Double, Vegas 3-Way, and Longshot, and once again, we’ll add a couple extra hitters to the Longshot to make the Moonshot. We’ve hit the last three Longshots in a row, so sticking with the formula that’s worked feels like the right move. It’s still another day of getting back to baseball after almost a week break, so we can expect to see some unpredictability.

Best of luck today, and welcome to all the new followers who are starting to gather on Facebook, Instagram, and our other socials. Be sure to subscribe to the free version of the newsletter so you get all three POTDs sent to your email every single day of the regular season, and remember if you want access to the Daily Double, 3-Way, Longshot and Moonshot you can upgrade your subscription at any time, but for a limited time if you lock in the 2027 regular season before the price increase, you;ll get the remainder of the 2026 regular season absolutely FREE!

I’ll check in early tomorrow with a recap of today’s games and a look at the Sunday schedule with some juicy plays for the day! Remember Sunday games often lack offense, so we go negative one day of the week and play more unders than any other day. It’s not my favorite way to play, but it makes money more consistently than trying to get positive production results out of far less hitting.

#1 — Tigers ML AND Tigers/Angels Over 7.5 Runs (+130)

Tigers hitters are among the most underrated in the league, and the Angels are sending sacrificial lamb Grayson Rodriguez and his 7.55 ERA to be slaughtered on the mound. Look for the Tigers to score early and often and the Angels with very little chance to keep pace. I’m looking for a 6-2 final score, but the numbers could be higher. Either way 8 runs in this game should not be an issue.

#2 — Emmet Sheehan (LAD) Over 4.5 Strikeouts AND
Logan Webb (SF) Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+170)

Sheehan’s career K/9 rate bears this out, especially given his swing-and-miss stuff. He struck out 7 recently against the Diamondbacks in just over five innings, and should be able to get Yankees hitters to chase the fastball out of the zone.

Webb is facing the Mariners high-strikeout lineup. Given the fact he consistently works deep in games should give him more than enough opportunity to exploit a lineup that’s far too desperate to drive the ball. I wouldn’t be shocked if he fans 8, but well play safer in this combo and stick with six.

#3 — Marlins ML AND Cardinals ML (+330)

Cardinals are the underdog on paper, but coming off the All Star Break they showed an offensive spark last night that should put them on top today. Diamondbacks hitting is streaky at best and except for solo home runs looked tentative in last night’s game. My gut (and game simulations) tells me the Cardinals will come out on top today.

Marlins are underdogs too, but are sending Max Meyer to the hill with a 9-1 record and a 2.58 ERA. Hitting on both sides is evenly matched, but I look for the Marlins to bounce back from a narrow loss in extras yesterday.
